Is a recent MBA grad who is unemployed eligible for a payday loan?
Your situation really sucks. I'm sorry. I hope you find a job soon. If you're running out of money, your problem is spending money, not finding more people to lend it to you. As a recent MBA, you probably have enough debt as it is. Here are a few ideas to dramatically cut your expenses: - Put all your student loans on "unemployment forbearance" ASAP. Your private loans may not allow you to do this, but the Federally backed ones will. This means you won't have to make any student loan payments until you find a job. Of course, the interest will keep accruing, but it conserves cash. - Stop paying rent: If you have to negotiate with your landlord to break a lease so you can move back in with your parents, do it. Your rent is probably your highest expense and you need to lower this dramatically. If you don't want to move it with your parents, you should be sleeping in a bunk-bed on AirBnB, not a 1 bedroom apartment. - Eat ramen and pasta. - Sell your car and use public transit or Zipcar. In short: do everything you can to cut your "burn rate" so that you can survive for the long haul, and stay away from debt as much as you can.
